About the Presidential Race
What to Watch

Though President Obama only lost Georgia by 5 points in 2008, he is not making a play for it this year. The only race of interest here is in the 12th congressional district, where Rep. John Barrow (D) is facing a tough reelection fight against Lee Anderson (R).

Voter Suppression

In 1871, Georgia became the first state with a poll tax. It currently has a strict photo ID requirement.
